This past summer, my mom and I participated in the Richmond Night Market in a different way than most—we ran our own psychic booth. It was an interesting experience to be on the other side of this well-known event, not just as visitors but as vendors offering tarot and palm readings to those interested.

Running from July to October, it draws in large crowds each weekend with its variety of food vendors, cultural performances, and shops. People from all over come to enjoy the relaxed, lively atmosphere and to explore what the market has to offer. While food stalls are a big attraction, the market also features many small businesses and services, which made it a fitting place for us to set up our psychic booth. The market’s diversity in what it offers makes it a welcoming space for unique experiences, like ours.

Our booth was simple, but we made sure to create a comfortable and inviting space for visitors. With soft lighting and a few meaningful items that tied into the psychic work we do, it provided a quiet place for people to come and get a reading, away from the busier parts of the market. My mom has been practicing as a psychic advisor for many years, and it was nice to share that side of her work with the market crowd. Throughout the evening, a steady stream of people visited our booth. Some came with specific questions, while others were simply curious about what we do.
A Quiet Yet Meaningful Evening
Overall, running our psychic booth at the Richmond Night Market was a calm and steady experience. The market gave us a chance to share our work in a new setting, and we appreciated the opportunity to connect with people in this different environment. Though we didn’t get too caught up in the market’s excitement, we enjoyed being part of something that brings so many people together.
It was a rewarding evening spent with my mom, doing something that’s meaningful to both of us, and being able to offer a little guidance to those who stopped by our booth. The Richmond Night Market provided the perfect backdrop for this experience, and we look forward to possibly returning next year.
